Today we had a puppy show up at our house, we are going to keep him. We have no idea what to name him. We do not know exactly what breed he is but we know he is some sort of hound. He is light brown and white. The white is only on the tip of his tail, his legs and a strip of white on the nose. Any ideas?

If I ever had gotten a hound I would like to name him Buster. but I can't because my boyfriend thinks that they are annoying so now we have a chihuahua. he hates her even more. oh will.

I wonder if you have a beagle there...
A good "houndy" name would suit him.. like Duke or Jethro or Buford, maybe. Try out a few on him and see if he responds more to the sound of one over others.
Having said that, though.. check around your area to make sure that the puppy doesn't already have a home. I'd be heartbroken to have a little darling like that escape and never get it back when it's just down the road or something.

name him Shea... pronounced like Shay but spelt Shea. Very country and houndlike. See if he responds.
