I know you can eat some of the aloe vera plant, kind of works as a laxative/stool softener. I wouldn't know about the taste or how well it works personally, because I've never tried it, but I did see my grandfather eat it a few times before.

not advisable, it may contain enzyime that may be harmful to you, anyway its not palatable i doubt that you can get 1 cup down
