I hope this doesn't sound cruel, but my dog learned within two days of trying this to stop jumping. When the dog comes at you, lift your knee so that it bumps her. It doesn't hurt them, it just scares them. This worked very quickly for my dog and she hasn't jumped since. I think I read this in Dog Fancy magazine. Since your dog is small, I'm not sure how this would work. Maybe a little tap with your foot? Something that startles them.

Tell everyone that interacts with your dog to do this : turn around the instant that you feel small paws on your legs. You and your friends and family need to remove the 'fun' part of jumping up for your dog - and you need to be consistent with this, so your dog gets the message. There's no need to be mean about it at all - and no need to punish by kneeing your dog in the chest! Just turn around until she has 4 on the floor.

This is a no brainer - Train her.

Put your knee up when she tries to jump up so that she cant do it properly, and then tell her NO in a very stern voice and make her sit immediately.

make her sit before she can approach people.. keep her sitting when people come up to her.

this doesnt work in two or three tries. you MUST be consistent with your training and do it every time she tries to jump or it wont work. It may take a few weeks.

Say down girl or boy because I used to have two dogs that do the same thing.

You should knee the dog off gently and say no in a stern voice.

Give her a little squirt with a small water gun! Don't let her see where the water is coming from! This also works for barking. Sounds crazy, but it works! :)
