I am the worlds laziest pie maker - yet this simple trick always turns out good to the folks who eat it!
I buy prepared frozen pie crusts and take them out of those tacky little foil pans and put them in my own nice homey looking pie pans
I add canned fruit pie filling that I jazz up with a little cinnamon, nutmeg, citrus zest, or other herby spicy things that go with the flavor I choose
then I use cookie cutters or a knife to cut shapes, lattice etc. out of another sheet of pie crust to place on top and serve it all with a really nice ice cream from the grocery store
It isn't exactly home made but you get the yum without the hard work

Baked Fresh Cherry Pie
"YUMMY-- uses fresh cherries!"
1 recipe pastry for a 9 inch double crust pie
4 tablespoons quick-cooking tapioca
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 cup white sugar
4 cups pitted cherries
1/4 teaspoon almond extract
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/2 tablespoons butter
DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (205 degrees C). Place bottom crust in piepan. Set top crust aside, covered.
In a large mixing bowl combine tapioca, salt, sugar, cherries and extracts. Let stand 15 minutes. Turn out into bottom crust and dot with butter. Cover with top crust, flute edges and cut vents in top. Place pie on a foil lined cookie sheet --- in case of drips!
Bake for 50 minutes in the preheated oven, until golden brown.
