The official site is at http://www.medicare.gov/

Part A is hospitalization coverage and every Medicare recipient gets that coverage.

Part B is optional, and a premium is charged for it. It covers medical expenses. If you opt out of part B, but then choose to join at a later date, you will generally pay a higher premium at the time you join than you would if you had participated from the time that you were eligible.

Another optional plan is Part D, which is prescription drug coverage.

you need to go to www.medicare.gov

on the left hand side of the page, beneath the log in are links. Click on the one that says Medicare & You 2007. It's pretty comprehensive.

Part A covers hospital.
Part B is doctor.

Part A is free, and part B has a monthly premium. Part B also has a yearly deductible, and then services are covered @ 80%. There are, of course, additional benefits & restrictions based on the specific benefit you are utilizing. Most services & providers are listed & addressed on the web, as well as in your medicare&you booklet.
Thanks.
