the best reason is because you really want one and you are financially able to support it and be able to give up life as you know it to look after someone who will be 100% dependant on you

not because you are trying to keep a relationship together or because you want a new house etc

The best reasons to have a child are reasons that also consider the well-being of the potential child in question.

Are you emotionally and mentally stable? Physically healthy?

Do you have an adequate support network, preferably including a spouse or significant other?

Is your income sufficient to meet the basic financial needs of having a baby? (Note that this does not mean "financially secure" or "well off", just that you have enough to get what a baby needs.)

Do you feel that you have the time and energy it takes to devote to another person's well-being, 'round the clock, 24/7, for the next several years until they become moderately independent? And after that, with the same amount of energy and devotion (if a little less time perhaps), until they are fully grown and completely independent?

And last, but not least, do you *want* children, and all of the responsibility, heartache, frustration, selflessness, stress, and worry that go hand in hand with the love, joy, contentment, elation, pride, and hope?

The best reason for having a child is the lessons you yourself learn as you raise this wonderful human being who is so unique that no one else in the world could ever be like.

When they are babies, you have this little bundle in your arms that depends on you for everything. They are perfect, no matter what. And as each day passes and they experience new things you see the child begin to grow and prosper. It fills your heart with an abundance of joy.

From their birth your heart feels as though it will burst from all the joy and love you have for this child. The bond is so strong you know nothing can ever rip it apart.

As the child reaches school age you find you must let go just a little. They are learning and exploring new relationships with their classmates. Most days are wonderful, but every now and then you feel your child's pain and hurt when another child hurts them, either verbally or physically as children will do. You try to teach your child the proper way to handle situations.

The child reaches preteen years and the bond between the two of you is tested. They want more independence and they start making more of their own decisions. You pray that you have taught them well to make the right decisions so they continue to blossom and flourish. You are proud of this wonderful creation that God has given you. There is nothing else like it.

As they become teens you sit up worrying at night waiting to hear them come through the door. This is your flesh and blood, a human that came from you. You have labored with them through up and downs. It is a lot of work, a lot of patience, and it is all worth the love. Even at this age when your teen thinks they know it all, they are still dependent on you. You who by the grace of God gave them life. This unique human who no one else can copy.

Now they are young adults. They finish school. They get a job. They meet their future spouse and start to settle down. You marvel at this beautiful human being whom you were fortunate enough to nuture and know. They are the personification of love.

Now you can sit back (although you never stop worrying about their well-being) and you can watch. Watch them as they have their own children and you can have fun experience love as a grandparent now. You will forever have a "book" in your mind of life long memories to cherish and hold dear to your heart.

This is why you have a child. Because there is no other love or responsibility like it. And even through the blood, sweat and tears you experience while you raise your child, you will never know a greater happiness all your life.

Well the best reason is if you really want a child... But you have to be ready for all the changes in your life when that child comes into the world. Are you financially stable enough to support a child for the rest of your life. Are you ready to come second, because that child will always come first. You will know when you are ready to have a child. And when you do, it's one of the best experiences that you will ever have in your lifetime.

A child is always a blessing. The big question is are you in the best position to bring a child into the world. Are you able to donate 100% of your time and energy. Do you have the love and support of a great spouse. Are you financially able to support a child.

I don't have any children, but there are a few great reasons to have them. For one, they give your life an extra sense of meaning and importance. Also, it would be interesting and challenging to mold the child into being a respectful, responsible adult; but by so doing, you could experience great satisfaction. Having children also strengthen your relationship with your spouse, and help you to appreciate them more, knowing that the child is a living piece of them as well.

Well, I mean life without a child is nothing. The reason to have a child is so you have someone who you can truly love and care for so much, more than you can ever imagine, and have them love you back. It's a wonderful feeling to have this human being that you created and you watched grow up and then he/she has kids of their own. It's amazing. If you didn't have a child, just imagine what life would be. You would have no constant in your life, nothing to live for. Everyday would be the same and you wouldn't experience your child's laugh or first word. That wouldn't be a life.

Because you are at a point in your life where you are ready financially and emotionally to give the gift of life to some one and give your endless love and your selfless time and attention to make sure that the child grows up to be a decent person that can succed in life. If you can accomplish this, in return, you get the reward of unconditional love and a friend who will look to you for the rest of your life.

There is no reason to have a child. Having children is the ultimate act of selfishness.

Perpetuation of the species is why the lower animals reproduce, but nothing good has come of our existence on this planet.

Yes, we love our children, but that's just a form of self-love isn't it. The answer doesnt change, there is no reason to have a child.

We have children because we're too stupid to use birth control or because we want to have children. No best reasons in either case.
