Everyone who donates blood gets that information. I've never gotten a card, though. They always give me a phone number to call with an identification number.

I have donated blood before and there is very strict guidelines. The first time that you register you will recieve a card in the post stating your blood type and you donor number. You would recieve a card if you blood is clean and dirty as it shows you have donated.
When your blood reaches the labs, (it is tested before transfusion) if there is anything wrong, this is where it would show.
I have dealt with the national blood service ans the bone marrow service, if you have any questions im sure they would not mind you calling.
Hope this helps.

Everyone who donated gets the card. And most of the time they don't use the blood if you say there is something wrong with it they use something that's in the blood I can't remember what its called though. Anyways so your blood or the stuff in it still goes to good use.

You will only get notified if something is wrong and they don't want you to donate again.

they will send you a letter stating you will need to follow up with a doctor.
good luck.
p.s. if it is hcv, sometimes a false negative will happen if it is a recent exposure.
