That;s personal preference and also what you can afford.
Canned food is always more expensive, also there are some concerns about ash content in foods with smaller male dogs this can cause crystallization in the urinary tract. Dry is easier and less expensive. It can be left out and the dog can eat at will. As far as foods, stay away from foods with meat or chicken by products, nasty stuff corn and soy dogs don't digest them well. I have a nutrition comparison site linked to my website check it out burdicklabradors.com helpful links page. Read the analysis it you surprise you. I feed blue seal life style and evolve dog foods

You seem to have very good answers here. We give a mixture of meat and dry. Seems like real food to the dogs the meat being a bit tastier and the dry being a bit like the bones it would eat )and the dry helps to clean the teeth a bit!

i personally feed both. dry on the morning and meat/fish on the night. depends on your dogs breed, we have a 3 year old staff that has a build that anybody would be proud of. luckily he is out with me all day so gets a massive amount of exercise to burn off any food he gets. but with an all round diet he is in prime condition. beware that if you feed a dog tinned food and they don't exercise much that the fat and basically **** they put in it will lay heavily on there stomach. try feed as much variety as you can.tuna should be a part of the dogs diet, brilliant for there coats and contains lots of goodness.the breeder i got my dog from even supplements his dogs with vitamins.

It really is only a matter of personal choice. The benefit of dry food, is when your dog decides to "break wind" it won't be as overwhelming as if eating wet food out of the tins.

Wholemeals are the BEST. We feed dry kibble in the morning and Wholemeals for dinner.
As for dry food you should get something that doesn't have corn or wheat gluten becuase it is a filler that is hard to digest and most dog foods have mostly by-products and it just makes them fat and doesn't have much nutritional value.
Check it out: http://wholemeals.com/

Both. I mix it. Dogs need meat as well as dry. Too much dry can swell in the gut and cause problems. My friend once had a cat she fed entirely on munchies and pilchards, it developed a gut problem and had to be destroyed. Too much dried food is not a natural diet however convenient.

I feed a mix of tin and dry meal for the crunch and also add vegetables - the dog loves everything except peas. More than one vet has told me you can't feed better than Chappie

the best food for your dog is chicken frames or chicken necks , liver raw stuff like that , tin food rots their teeth and has no real nutritional value , if you want to feed dry food i strongly suggest iams eukanuba or pro plan.
