My son is 3 and he is extremely into matchbox cars, Ben10 action figures, a dvd is good.. like Happy Feet, outside toys are also a great choice now that the weather is breaking.
Good Luck!

It depends on if its for a boy or girl. The leapster toys are popular. Or, look at Playschool or Fisher Price toys. Their toys are usually age appropriate and safe. Wal-Mart has a good selection of toys and so does Target.

Leap Frog has a "computer" that you can change out the cartridges, It's fun educational and my son won't put his down, But at the same time he is learning his ABC and 123.

you have to find out what the child likes, in my sons case, he loves books. But I think anything fun and educational at the same time would be great.

I have had great success giving the game Cariboo for 3-year olds. Kids love it, and they can play the game with other family members.

all the kids like toys, but the important present to your 3 years old kid 1st love 2nd your smile with your husband or wife
because children's they don't know what they like! you should talk to them what they like, and you can decide it, or you treat him or her in one simple party, just like eating in mc donald.
