You are not a kid whereby you have to justify your actions to anybody. Do you want to be with this man? Does he share in making you happy? I am quite sure that you have said yes! Therefore, politely state to them what I have stated to you and leave it at that.
There is no more to be said about 'your choice'! If they value your friendship, and want to remain your friend, then they will cease and desist! May you and your boyfriend be happy in life.

Oh it ticks me off when I hear or see people say things like that. If you are happy with him then good for you! Age does not matter! (Of course a 20 year old and a 70 year old is a little out there :P)
My husband is 39 and I am in my EARLY 20's! I am more in love with the man then I ever thought I could be with anyone. It can happen.
Good for you, I am happy for you. Good luck and have a great day.

The best thing to do I think is to tell them what you just told us. You value their opinions, but you really like this man and want to see where it goes can it is getting a bit annoying and ask them to lay off a bit.

Age is only a number . Your friends aren't the ones that have to be with your boyfriend, You are. If they were your "True Friends" they wouldn't be critisizing you. As long as he is good to you, that is all that matters.

Try to find out why they think that makes you crazy. Let them know your point of view, and if they can't see that, let them know it's your life and you know what you are doing. They could be just be being over-protective.

Well, if that guy is really important to you, explain that to your friends. It's your life, after all, and if they care about you, they should accept it.
