A week ago, I told my bf of 5 months, "i love you." he said "i love you too", but didn't say it since then......I was so frusterated all week. Then, on the phone last night, we got to talking about it, and he said "I *really* really really really like you......but, i dunno....."
As in he didn't want to continue saying it. I think i really do love him, though. :-(
I am 100% willing to wait until he is ready to say it....whenever that is, because he is so special to me.
I am just wondering if this is bad. I FEEL LIKE SUUUUUUUUUCH AN *IDIOT* for saying it 1st! And causing all this chaos.

Do you have any thoughts on this situation?

I went through the same thing you r in...

"After like 18th date with this guy, i told him i loved him; but he said nothing back-- it was awful, then a few weeks l8er, in deep discussion, he said he loved me. Im happy he waited until he meant it now."

Dont worry. Tell him he doesnt have to say it back-- you just had to tell him how you felt. Then avoid that phrase for a few months. If he still hasnt said it, ask how he feels about you - he might not be in that place yet!

Well dont feel like an idiot. It shows him that you really do care, and guys need time. Guys have a different language then girls, and sometimes its really hard to understand. Its great that you can wait until he is ready to say it. In the mean time, dont act any different. do stuff you guys used to do, and DONT push it. This way he will not feel pressured, and seeing that you are not an extremly sensitive girl is nice for guys, and he will feel morecomfertable.
I wouldnt say this is chaos. I underestand how you feel, but dont let this bother you. Maybe he doesnt know what exactly it means, or doesnt want to commit to anything.
What I can say for sure, is that guys like it when you can continue to hang out with him, dont act as things are wrong, and i think this will be a show of how you guys are great together and he will say it.
Good luck my dear!
:)

There always needs to be someone first but now I'd just don't talk about or expect anything for a while. Men get pretty scared when women get personal. Also, get real, after 5 mos., you're in love?
It takes time (even if you're in love), to really get to know some one, REALLY KNOW, I mean. That's what's wrong today, nobody wants to take time to make sure and that's why we have so many divorces or dysfunctional relationships. Don't rush him, relax in knowing, you having someone you love and enjoy the ride.
He will feel more at ease if you don't talk about and since you have told him, HE KNOWS NOW, eventually, if it's right, he'll say it too.
Men have told me over the years this: We DON'T MIND, getting caught, we just don't want to KNOW, that we are GETTING caught.
IT'S A MAN'S THING!!!!!!!!!!!!

no it's not bad you telling him that you love him first is not bad beacuse think about if you or him would not have said anything yall would not be together. but if he ain't ready then you should wait. and give him some time better yet talk to him about it.

Just give it a rest and don't worry about it. If he didn't have feelings for you, he wouldn't be with you. Don't mention it again until he does. Boys/men like to be the ones in charge and don't like being pushed.

I know what you mean. You should have waited for him to say it to you, before saying it. If he feels uncomfortable saying that he loves you, then he doesn't love you as much as you love him.
