Now lets say i just walked away and left my son a letter saying some day i might come back if he was good. After a while He wouldn't believe me anymore especially if i told him that if he needed me i would be there and then never was. I am not comparing myself to God but to Gods phylosofy of living. God: Believe in me and suffer and not get anything for your troubles and maybe just maybe i might let you into heaven. Me: Do as i say because i know best i will help you in any way i can. I wont throw you away because you fail or turn you away if you do wrong.

I tend to agree. Some of today's preaching is catering to the masses by telling them what they want to hear i.e God wants you to be rich, God wants you to have treasures on this earth, God wants you to be happy so go and be happy etc.

It is not that God does not want us to have life more abundantly than those that do not believe but to me that means that I will be happier in my life because of my relationship with God, not because of the things that this earth or man can bring to me.

Keep in mind that there are deceivers everywhere. People who use religion to get things and money for themselves or just people who enjoy the power of being in the spotlight. Measure all preaching by the life of Jesus. If he says it is important, then it is important etc.
