Sheesh, why don't these guys ever help instead of just saying all kinds of things here?

el vendedor means the salesman.

es gringo means he is a white guy, usually the word used by Mexicans to describe Americans like "honky".

a pesar de su lengüeta astuta literally translated is in spite of his astute tongue-piece.

Put together, colloquially, it's "Despite his astute spiel, the salesman is a "honky" [ or a dumb Yank]!

Somebody is commenting about a dumb Yank Salesman who he thinks doesn't speak Spanish, to another Hispanic.

The word for "buy" is "comprar" in Spanish, and "lengüeta" is not "lengua" or language, it's spiel.

I wonder where those guys learnt their "Spanish"?

All the best.

Cheers!

De nada, amiga!

Oh, by the way, I wouldn't take this as Negative FB, because it says the guys spiel was "astute" or very good, but shows a bit of bigotry in calling him a "gringo" despite that.

That white boy can't afford to buy our language........translated from street talk. You are a proper white guy who speaks Spanish well, but you cannot buy the language.
