Cut off at least an inch off your hair, then buy a really good straigthner like GHD or Sedu. They'll leave your hair straight more longer if you wrap up your hair. Don't wash your hair every single day, do it every other day or every 2 days. Use a good moisturizing shampoo and conditioner. Infusium 23 is great. Matrix and Biolage are also excellent, but a little more expensive.Shampoo twice to really get your hair clean. Never scrub, but gently massage your scalp. When you're satisfied, comb the shampoo through with your fingers to distribute it to the ends, but keep in mind that there's no need to vigorously wash the bottom half of the hair, especially if it's damaged. Be sure to rinse it all out, and be thorough but always gentle. Any trace of shampoo left in your hair will only contribute to dryness. Rinse for a full four minutes. Condition your hair three times to get it really soft. Please do not condition the roots of your hair. The second time use a (store-bought) deep conditioner mixed with your regular conditioner and leave it in for a while The last time you condition rinse it out with cool water his will really help seal in the moisture and add shine. While your hair is still dripping wet, apply some Infusium 23 leave-in conditioner, Comb it through with a wide tooth comb.
Use a very small amount of serum or creme just on the ends of your hair. Make sure that it's oil free, keep it well away from your roots. Let it air dry. Straighten your hair layer by layer, the smaller the layer the more thoroughly you can straighten it and the better the results will be. To preserve your hairstyle and keep the retouching-time minimal in the morning, wrap your hair before you go to sleep. When it's all up, secure it with a silk scarf to keep everything in. About once a week, use a deep conditioner. You can pretty much use anything you want for this: sesame oil works wonders, but anything creamy or oily - mayonaise, bananas, mashed potatoes - works. Leave it in for as long as you want before getting into the shower, but be really really thorough when washing it out.

Well I was in a similar situation of loving the length but hating the damage so i went to the salon and they trim just a few of the worse ones off so my hair looked healthily but still kept its length. I'm afraid you might have to do this!
In the future prevention is better than cure use Trevor sorbie straightening addict shampoo and conditioner and every two days use dove intensive moisture mask will make sure hair feel amazing!!! before applying the irons use a heat protection spray the GHD iron oil is fab and smell divine however a less pricy one would be lee Stafford or Charles Worthington which are both cool too!!! Hope this help and your hair is looking better soon!!!
Finally you could try give your hair a rest on a Sunday and stay hidden in your room like me!!!

I have this problem as well, but then again I just trim them off myself!
Although straightening your hair is damaging if you use good quality hair straightners such as GHDs they will not only make your hair straight but they keep it that way for longer. I can go up to 3 days without having to straighten mine and I think it has helped the condition.
Also, before you straighten your hair make sure you apply lots of serum or heat-defense spray which helps keep your hair in good condition even though you are applying heat to it.
Tresemmé & Sunsilk also do special shampoos & conditioners which specialise in 'split-end hair' and 'frizzy hair' which also should help.
You can also buy little bottles of hot oil treatment for like £1 from most chemists that you leave in for 5 minutes & they condition your hair like a treatment from a salon would do.

you ned to cut your hair, but if you're serious about not wanting to cut it as short, start at least by finding a very, very patient hair cutter who will painstakingly cut the split ends from your hair, one-by-one. i had someone done that to me when i was younger, but i think the fact that i was a little girl then made it more bearable... =) you'll have to pay top money for that service, or at least you'll need a super supportive friend. it can take hours... but then again, until you eliminate the root cause of your problem (straightening your hair), you'll never fully get rid of them.
lots of people with curly hair get by okay... there are famous people who have curly hair. it's all a matter of knowing what style fits you most. if you're not sure, then go back to that hair stylist and ask for help... they can show you several ways you can wear your hair CURLY without turning it into a disaster. be kind to your hair...

WHat you should do is start using a strong conditoner and after washing your hair oil the ends or find some kind of spilt end cream put it on your hair on the ends, then roll your hair up at night and wear a silk bonnet on a silk pillow sheet. Also when you go to the salon have them do a trim about every 2 weeks.

Well u can just go trim your hair, where it only cut 1 inch of ur original long. split ends normally occur because of dry and not healthy hair. u can use a moisturizer or split ends cream and also dont regularly wash your hair. When u ask for rebonding ask the salon to use better product. Dont hairdryer your hair oftenly.

I know jsut what you are talking about. I did the same thing. All you have to do is find realy good shamppos and conditioners. LIke Dove! And use them alot. SHower more often and try to slow down the straightner. You can try ato go to a shop and ifnd the product its is like leave in conditioner for you hair. This really helped me! Ok hope you find a good answer! Good luck and i hope they go away soon!

You really just need to cut your hair and start over. It will grow back quickly anyways because it won't be dead. Then make sure you use a heat protector each time you straighten your hair or blowdry it.
