My doctor told me two years ago that I have a Rotator's cuff, but he told me not to worry about it. This year my chiropractor told me the same thing, and also said not to worry about it.

But now I'm in track and we have to lift weights. I was told that I may not be able to lift weights and told that I definitely can't throw or else my shoulder may become permanently dislocated because of the rotated cuff. How can I make my shoulder normal again?

The rotator cuff is in the shoulder and help with throwing, which is why a lot of basball pitchers have a rotator cuff tear.

if you were Nolan Ryan, yes, you get the surgery.

In your case, if you feel that you need to, you get it repaired, ad vising them that you were told that with this tear, you need it fixed

I had a rotator cuff injury and it took a long time to heal. I rested it, making sure not to do anything that made it hurt (which was not easy), and I took anti-inflammatory drugs and Soma (at bedtime) for pain. It took about a year and a half before the pain went away, and a few more years before I could do everything I used to do. However, I was able to avoid surgery and now it is fine. I know other people whose orthopedist told them to do physical therapy -- this always made their pain worse, and all of them ended up having to have surgery (some twice). I'm sorry if I offend any physical therapists out there, but I wonder if I did better because I refused to do physical therapy. I don't know if your shoulder would respond the same way, but I just thought I would mention it in case it's helpful.

The rotator cuff is a ring of 4 tendons that connects the shoulder blade to the arm. Injuries to the rotator cuff are common in athletes who do a lot of throwing (quarterback, baseball pitcher) or use the throwing motion (swimmers). The affected arm can be rehabilitated. Contact an orthopedist.

Everyone has a Rotator Cuff, you can't get rid of it.

What you might have is a torn rotator cuff. That can usually be corrected with surgery.
