The heating pad has been taken from her. She claims the spots will go away and that she's had them before.

She probably is right. Some people get a rash from heat. If she happens to be diabetic or has very fragile skin she needs to use caution with heat otherwise putting a towel between her and the heating pad may allow her the comfort of the warmth without the spots. She or someone caring for her should check and be sure the spots don't come back of course and that the ones she has now do clear up in a little while.

Yes, they will go away. The heating pad was probably too hot and caused a heat rash. Nothing at all to worry about. If it doesn't look like the typical heat rash to you, not to worry, it is still just caused from the heat. She needs to have it on a lower setting, or if she insists on using the higher setting, then have her at least wrap it in a towel so there is something thick to buffer some of the heat. This should help.

Whenever I have heat on my right leg, I get read blotches. I asked my doctor and he said it was a form of uncontagious heat rash that is under my skin.

This especially happens to my leg in the summer, in hot tubs, and with heating pads.

Hope this helps!
