Ok so theres this guy that I like and his older sister told me that he likes me. His sister and I are not what you would call friends but we dont hate each other. How do I know if he really likes me with out asking my mom, or asking him/his friends?

DON'T TRUST HER!!! i went through ALL of that. Don't ask around, because his friends will tell him u asked. Trust me. Try some obvious flirting, if he backs away, try to find someone else. not to sound like a slut or anything ..

if his sister told you and she doesn't have a 'hidden agenda', then he likes you
if she has a 'hidden agenda' (ie: wants to see you humiliated, wants to see her brother humiliated) then he doesn't...
you should be able to tell by the way he acts when you are around
