I heard there are pills to control the urges, she also never hangs out around other dogs so the risk of her getting pregnant is very low...

The smell of a female in heat can carry for miles. It's not whether your baby hangs out with other dogs but rather what she might attract through nature's call to your home. There is also the mess of a female in heat. Sometime not so much but some can be pretty messy to keep clean and there is no way to predict which one your pup will be.
If your not planning on breeding her, then do yourself a favor and opt for the spaying. There is a pain killer that the vet can administer that allows them to feel fairly pain free following the surgery. The point of allowing them to feel some of the discomfort is to keep them from jumping and bouncing around and perhaps disturbing the sutures. We can't unfortunately explain it to them and hope that they will stay inactive for the required time span but we can and should protect with everything at our disposal.

Yes! You should always spay/neuter your animals do not contribute to the growing numbers of homeless pets. Spaying is done very humanely, under anesthetics your dog will feel nothing of the surgery and afterwards there is very little discomfort. Believe me you will have a hard time keeping her quiet for the recommended time after the surgery. Secondly whether or not she hangs out with other dogs there is always that possibility, believe me when she goes into heat every male dog will be after her. A female dog will even back up to a fence to mate. Also getting her spayed reduces the risk of certain cancers and other problems. Do yourself and her the favor of getting her spayed.

It far better for the health of your pet to have the spay done.
She runs the risk of pyometra which is a uterine infection and they can be deadly if not caught in time and many times they are not caught in time and the dog dies. Each heat you run the risk of it happening.
Also every time she is n heat you raise her risk of cancer.
Most older female dogs who live long enough that have not been spayed have mamary cancer.
So for a day or twos pain why would you run the risk of cancer and daeth for your pet.
If you are worried about her pain speak to your vet.
They have a sticky patch that they shave a place on the dog and put it on. It is a transdermal pain control patch and they work great. They use them on cats all the time. They are safe to be used on dogs and they work great.
Most dogs are not in pain after a spay. Mine came home and promptly jumped all over the male dog I have. They ran and played like she had been gone a week. She had no pain issues after her spay. Really none of my dogs seems to be in pain after.

ya but they can get very annoying and some bitches get a period as well.So it can get messy. It's not that bad getting them done.In fact with her being a home dog she is better off n it would make things more comfortable for her.I show dogs for a living n have learnt that especially for a male dog it can b painful for them when there in the mood and can't or don't get anything.U no what I mean any lovin from another dog. They also look much healthier when spayed. They can get really lovey dovey with u to the point where they'll think of u as another dog n want to get happy with u n it can get gross.Well this is just my opinion but just so u know there not in a lot of pain after surgery n recover fast.oh ya n they well some will bark n bark n bark cuz they want out to see another dog cuz they can smell others when in heat n they can smell a mile away n sometimes they will do this all through the night.

There is some pain and discomfort following the surgery, your vet will medicate her for this. If you are worried about her talk to the vet before you make your appointment. A female dog in heat is not easy to keep away from male dogs and It is messy. Most dogs have a couple of cycles a year so that means you would have to watch her very closely. Unless you a professional breeder the advantages out weigh the disadvantages.

Never heard of pills for dogs. Spaying is much healthier for her, it will decrease her chances of getting mammory cancer and also pyometria (an infected uterus, surgery for this costs about $1000 dollars). They usually do just fine and you can request pain medication. They usually go home the same day and are back to their normal selves in just a few days. Good luck!

The pain she would experience is very short and very minimal compared to the pain she will expereince if she develops mammary cancer or any other reproductive cancer. It is also very minimal then if she gets pyometria, a very serious often fatal uterine infection.
You would be doing your dog a big favore by spaying her. She will be happier and healthier for it.

Unless your dog is a pedigreed purebred, there's no reason not to have her spayed. She would suffer much more by continuing to go into heat without mating.
I hope you will do the responsible thing and call your vet. Ask for his or her reccommendation. Good luck.

The procedure is very quick and, although there is some soreness, they are usually back to their old self in a few days.
But the MAIN consideration is that spaying your ***** not only prevents unwanted pregnancies (during which she could die due to complications) it also prevents the development of several types of cancer later in life.
The short term soreness is well worth prevention of these devastating deadly problems.

Absolutely!!! It is very important to spay your doggie! There are pain medicines to help her with pain. I hated doing it to mine but it is necessary to not contribute to the pet overpopulation problem. It doesn't matter if she is around other doggies, they are very sneaky when they are in heat and it only takes one time to get pregnant.
