cloves are a natural painkiller and antiseptic for toothaches. If you have whole cloves just kinda chew on them a bit to get the oils out or you may buy clove oil and put a lil bit on a gauze and place on hurting tooth. Beware the taste is not that great but this does work unless you have a serious abcess.

It's a really bad idea. Toothache can be a sign of a serious problem. If you don't treat it you can end up with a very serious illness, or a far more extensive problem with your teeth.
Often people who ignore a problem for a long time end up finally going to the dentist after they cannot take the suffering any more. When they finally go the damage caused by waiting is far more than it ever would have been if the problem had been treated early.
Ignoring toothache is a really bad idea. Go see a dentist.

old ice on over the cheek ove r the tooth.
the ice will numb the pain.
alos try to mediate - and relax
the problem is that the nerve will most likely burn itself out, and then you will not feel anyu pain - and the tooth will just continue to rot away until it crumbles in oyur mouth or a piece of food enter teh gun through the rotted tooth and then you'll need some gum work and be in more pain.
or bite the bullet and go see a dentist

Anything you do will only be temporary, but what works good is to put gum numbing jel like Anbesol on your toothbrush and brush the tooth and gums to deaden it. Then I usually put a warm/wet wash rag on my cheek. Mine was only sensitive to cold so drinking something warm, like coffee, helped sometimes.
Also, believe it or not, I was able to ease the pain by biting down on a pen for a few minutes. Just put it sideways in your mouth and bite down like the cowboys did in the old movies when they would have a bullet cut out.

That's not very safe, you could have an absess which left untreated could kill you. My boyfriend had one so bad he punched a hole in the wall. If no insurance is a problem try a discount service called Ameriplan, you get discounts on dental service, my boyfriend paid only 96 dollars to get the tooth removed and x-rayed.

For temporary relieve of pain like this, a treatment of 3%peroxide (available everywhere) used straight and held in your mouth at the tooth location will begin to destroy bacteria and help...just help.
Take two aspirins as well and rest.

Definitely! Go to www.infinity2.com and order Total Flora. Take one capsule and place in or on the cavity. Gently bite down on it until it competely dissolves. Swallow but don't drink anything for half an hour. This worked for me for years until I got all my teeth crowned.
