I got shivers when I read your question!!! This is possibly the chore about remodeling I hate the most. Don't waste your money buying anything, all you need is a spray bottle, hot water, something to "score" the paper with, and a good metal scraper. Scoring will allow the hot water to get under the paper and loosen the paste. It is time comsuming, and an utter nightmare, but this is really the best way to do it. I have heard people swear by the steamers you can rent, but I haven't tried that, since I couldn't find one. Have fun, and I hope your project goes well!

I used very, very hot water and vinegar, soak the paper down and then start scraping with a wide metel scraper, sparay more water every few feet and let it start soaking before you get to that spot. BVery time consuming but it's about the cheapest way to go!

Most wall paper when you get it wet it will peel right off. So try using a sponge and get it wet if not try a heat gun that will more than likely soften the glue.

Rent a commercial grade steamer. It will do a nice job, with little effort.
