he says he will call and he calls the day after he is supposed to. He says we will go to lunch tomorrow it doesnot happen. He was ssupposed to call, he leaves the country and I find out 2 dya later when I call. He takes rain checks on dates planned. Is this what he means when he says he will always be contrary to other BF's yet he lays the L word and I am here for the long haul.

why are you sitting around waiting for this guy. one thing is that he bails out on dates, but to leave the country and not even tell you? come on! you are just there, that's it. and anyone lays the L word if they know that that is going to keep you in place for whenever they need you.
it's obvious that he doesn't care for you...i hope that you care for yourself enough to leave this idiot and give yourself the opportunity to meet someone who will take a relationship with you seriously.

It sounds like a relationship I once had myself and being honest it won't work out. His heart is not in this relationship, he uses you when he wants you, otherwise his life has nothing to do with you at all. He does as he pleases. He expresses the L word to keep you around "in case".
My Advice: Become unavailable - it is hard I know but you need to distance yourself. Any man that really wants you in his life is going to make sure he pays attention to you to keep you there. When you are doing all the work in this relationship, then it isn't a relationship at all. You deserve a lot better and remember to love and respect yourself first. You are someone very special that deserves being treated well. The right one will come along, promise.

Well, don't blame him, he's probably really busy with stuff. At least he called a few times, that means he hasn't forgot about you, don't ever put that beside you. If he didn't love you, then he wouldn't be in this position with you right now. Don't dump him, because if you do, you'll fell really guilty about it when he wasn't lying about it.

Dear...I beleive that perhaps he`s busy that may be the reason he doesn`t call....
I beleive in this situation you should know the importance between a guy`s behaviour and that of a girl...
You know for us girls once we know someone we take everything at heart,everything is important for us, every single detail....we may get close to someone as soon as we know that person...We`re eager for the call of the person
I beleive that your heart is in this relationship...You are enthusiastic about knowing him etc
But you know boys are different...there is something which is quite sad to say but i`ll say it to help you....Once a Boy meet a girl even though he is very interested...he will not let himself get close to the girl as soon as he knows her...Since he doesn`t know much about you...he cannot make you his priority (Boys are like that dear)...But don`t lose hope...With time when a guy is used to a girl..you don`t even have to remind him to call....
I beleive that unlike girls guys donot let themselves be carried away in a relationship as soon as they know the person....For them to give all of them in a relationship they have to get used to that person...knowing that they feel at ease with the person....
Try to understand him....Don`t be frustrated when he doesn`t call,Be patient..Don`t be pessimistic...Because that is just the way some guys are.....Little by little, with time, By getting to know each other i`m sure things will ameliorate and change considerably....

The signs arnt good. Stop calling him, if possible, wait for him to call.
If he loves you, he should let you know his plans before he goes through with them. I think you have your doubts, act on them.
