This board will be used for attach one end of the r panel roofing material. This is for a carport project.....

I would suggest drilling through the brick and using long lag screws that screw into the framing behind the brick. I would be concerned about any system that anchors into the brick only.
If the back side is accessible consider bolts or threaded rods.

i gotta agree with stedyedy, go all the way thru if you can. even tho there are probably wall ties anchoring the brick to the studs better to err on the safe side...but a redhead anchor every 16 in. across the length of the board will do a good job of holding it.

definatly drill though and get bolts and large brick type washers if you want the masonry to stay together and hold the weight.
