I am going to Argentina for 2 months from June to August and was wondering how much money I will need to bring with me, I am not much of a shopper so temptation should not be a problem and I am also staying with a friend, no rent and most meals at home?? How much should I bring with me and how should I bring it??

since lodging and food will mostly be taken care of, you should be ok with $500 in different denominations readily available. if anything, there will be places to convert your dollars (assuming you have it in USD) to the country's currency. also, if you have a bank account and an atm card/credit card, check with the bank or company about being able to withdraw in a foreign land, their withdrawal charges/fees. visa and mastercard are accepted worldwide.

This will depend on where you are staying .

I would say you live confortably on :
$50 a night hotel
$50 a day for food and drink

Argentina is fairlly cheap place to visit.
But there are lots of temptations , like great shoes and clothes.
