I know you've heard a lot about bad things that muslims in name have done. I as a proud muslimah want to enlighten you and get your honest opinion. These verses are saying to leave those who don't fight you about religion alone. These are just a few. There are many more verses telling you to do good and get along, and fighting verses when put in context are about self defense. NOthing to do with attacking innocent people. What do you good people think of them?

"Fight in the cause of God those who fight you, but do not transgress limits; for God loveth not transgressors. (The Noble Quran, 2:190)"

"But if the enemy incline towards peace, do thou (also) incline towards peace, and trust in God: for He is One that heareth and knoweth (all things). (The Noble Quran, 8:61)"

"If thou dost stretch thy hand against me, to slay me, it is not for me to stretch my hand against thee to slay thee: for I do fear God, the cherisher of the worlds. (The Noble Quran, 5:28)"

"God does not forbid you from showing kindness and dealing justly with those who have not fought you about religion and have not driven you out of your homes. God loves just dealers. (The Noble Quran, 60:8)"

"And fight them until persecution is no more, and religion is for God. But if they desist, then let there be no hostility except against wrongdoers. (The Noble Quran 2:193)"

"Let there be no compulsion in religion: Truth stands out clear from error: whoever rejects evil and believes in Allah hath grasped the most trustworthy handhold, that never breaks. And Allah heareth and knoweth all things. (The Noble Quran, 2:256)"

I am a Muslim as well and I am proud to be a Muslim and proud to have you as a Muslim sister, me and you know the truth and we know we don't deny other religions as they deny us, if we say something nice about Islam and Qumran and they liked it they would say that we stole it from the bible and if its not nice they will say this is your bad religion , so I don't think talking about it here will make any difference nor will it make people change their minds...so what we can do is to help people who want to know about us and leave those who hate us for being us alone. we are in the middle of hatred over here... and our voice is so weak, all we can do is to show them how peaceful we are.. peace to all of you.

I won't argue with your verses, even though there are different translations.

Jesus said if slapped on the right cheek turn and offer your left cheek.

If the soldiers ask you to carry their packs 5 miles, carry them 10 miles.

Love your neighbor as you love yourself. Love your enemy the most.

He who lives by the sword dies by the sword.

How about them ones!

it would be better if the imams kept preaching those and condemn suiside bombings more. but I still do not think that makes islam Good as Jesus is the only way to God and the quran denies that.
