Germany is an enigma. Despite decent education and standard of living, Germans continue to allow their country to be literally held hostage by a group of terrorist addicts: smokers. In true European fashion, they have already wasted decades “studying” and “discussing” a problem scientifically proven and obvious to anyone with a nose. Now that the prime ministers of all German states have met to decide what to do, there are still too many “loopholes” that allow these pathetic addicts to continue to poison the air and those who are not trying to kill ourselves or others. Restaurant owners are gutless as well, and ignore the fact their businesses would be much better in smokeless environments. Addicts can no longer pollute? So what? If customers really went there to eat and drink rather than feed addictions, they would remain. And thousands of the majority of us who DETEST smoking would become customers. When is SANITY, government responsibility, and common sense going to prevail here?

Germany is not the only country. America does it too. Why do we allow products to be sold to citizens that have been proven to cause deadly disease? Big TOBACCO MONEY paying every aspect of government off to keep it legalized. I am a smoker myself and I don't want to smoke. I have tried quitting ten times or more without sucess. I am currently taking Chantix, so hopefully this will help. My mother took it and has not smoked for 6 months and she had been smoking for 40+ years. So hopefully this is my tickett to get off the evil ride. I think a ban on smoking should be world wide. Why do countries have so little regard for the lives of their people? Again, BIG TOBACCO paying off the government to keep it legal. It is the same with alcohol. Everyday someone is killed by a drunk driver. Yet we slap them on the wrist and turn them loose to do it again and again. I don't know about Germany, but in the US you get as many as 6 DUI's without getting any jail time and get your license back within a year. Here again, why does our government allow the sale of a harmful drug such as alcohol? BIG MONEY pays off the government to keep it legal. How many times do you hear about someone smoking marjauna and getting behind the wheel of a car and killing someone. Marjauna has been found to be very helpful when used medicinely for cancer patients, yet it is ILLEGAL and the government will never legalize. Do you know why? Because they won't be able to tax it if people are growing it themselves. Not enough $ in it for them.

Comparing the socil attractiveness of smoking global vast, Germany is within the core of the extremes. In the US, a smoker continuously asks "Do you brain if I smoke?" and can chorus from doing it in the event you reply "sure". In Germany, a smoker won't ask. But in the event you say anything he's going to both apologise and placed his cigarette out or smoke out of a window to minimise your publicity. In the Middle East, you'll be provided a cigarette as a signal of politeness. "No thank you, I do not smoke" won't depend, you have got to take it besides and get the smoke blown into your face on best of it. Go determine. To reply your query extra straight: I'm German and I've acquired bronchial asthma. Generally it is extremely convenient for me to prevent smoky environments, as plenty of locations are non-smoking besides. It is ordinary (or no less than was once earlier than the smoking ban) to look ashtrays in entrance of workplace structures, in order that people who smoke might smoke external. Same for golf equipment and different public structures. The simplest difficult locations had been bars and pubs or theatre lobbies or identical. I believe the smoking ban took care of that, have not had the possibility to examine but. (The simplest factor I famous is that workplace staff at the moment are smoking within, seeing that smoking in public in entrance of the door is now prohibited. ARRRGH!) So total your center issues shoudn't preclude you from having fun with a commute to Germany. Have amusing!

You're goin too far into this subject....but maybe some coutries believe ,unlike america, that certain people just cause they dont like or do something, others have to suffer. if you think smokin pollutes our air, thats fine, but so does the ignorance of your words.i dont smoke, but if someone else does ,thats their freedom to do so,hmmm, sounds like germany has more freedom than america, which that dont suprise me.america has more laws and rules regulating what we can say do and feel than our so called bad countries, yea,i think we are the bad country, not germany.hail germany for showing us americans what true freedom is.

Where in the world is smoking banned?
If you could get smoking banned, what would be next on your list, banning alcoholic beverages?
How about banning sex?
Or food consumption?
Tell me, except possibly in China, where could you get something arbitrarily banned?
By the way, China has a very high percentage of smokers.

If it bothers you so much, maybe you should stay at home and work on your descriptive phrasing. I don't think it is quite judgmental enough. "Terrorist addicts?" Give me a break. In fact, a smoke break.

You should move to San Francisco. They've virtually outlawed smoking anywhere but in your own basement.
