yes its me lol
actually Sean , so many studies have been done
so many tests
Tricia Robertson is a lady I studied under at university , she has been testing the same mediums over a ten year period and her findings have been amazing
this is a link to who and what she does
http://www.sspr.org.uk/Search.html
the best evidence however would be evidence for the individual
to have someone tell you about people they do not know and have no way of knowing
I am not talking about these so called TV mediums , who tell you yes someone begining with an A blah blah

As a scientist and an atheist I would be very interested in any evidence of talking to spirits. Up until now, all reported instances of talking to spirits have been anecdotal and have proved impossible to reproduce under scientific conditions - primarily because the claims were fake.
However, unlike many religionists, I believe it's important to keep an open mind.
(to the answerer above) Atheists (and scientists) only believe what is indicated by evidence - we maintain a healthy scepticism about things which are claimed but cannot be demonstrated when put to the test because history and experience has shown that most such claims are fraudulent, wishful thinking or the results of brainwashing - which category do you fall in?
Perhaps someone who believes in an afterlife would be prepared to volunteer to get in touch after death with a series of pre-arranged "passwords" known only to them and the scientists conducting the experiment.

It's an interesting question. And like GLH I would be fascinated if it could be validated. I'd have to reconsider an awful lot of my views about life, the universe and everything.
But it does seem to me that if it happens we'd have heard more about it. I think if any of us here died and found ourselves in a hereafter we'd want to let our loved ones know wouldn't we? Something as important as that, wouldn't we want to reassure people? And whether we ourselves could do this or whether we needed an intermediary, wouldn't we try? I'm pretty sure I would.
I seem to remember that Houdini left his wife a secret code that he would use to contact her from the afterlife. His wife held yearly séances on Halloween for ten years after his death, but Houdini never appeared.
It seems to me that the experiment could easily be repeated. Though on the evidence so far, I'm not holding out much hope.

How one would put together an experiment.......hmmmmmm?
I don't either, since a spirit is something we cannot see. This debate could continue on forever. It is VERY HARD convincing those what they cannot see, to believe in it and this argument about validating the existence of spirits unfortunately will NEVER change.

For one thing spirits are something beyond the realms of modern day science, it's still a mystery. Perhaps someday we could get a more accurate detail about this, perhaps not.

As a matter of fact, there is serious research going on along these lines. It is a new frontier, and many organization including the CIA are not about to be left behind. Watch out.

It is the ability of some person's brains to hear and speak to entities beyond out earthly perception.
There are people who have this ability.
A good example was the prophets of old.
Most people think that they are no longer in operation, but they are.
