Do not wash your hair for at least 24 hours before trying to curl it. If you must wash it, use only a very small amount of shampoo, and do not condition your hair.

Buy a curling iron at a beauty supply store or even a drugstore. They can be as cheap as $20 or even lower. When buying one, consider the size of the barrel (the part where you curl your hair). The wider the barrel, the bigger the waves/curls will be.

Heat up your curling iron in an outlet for about 5 minutes or as long as necessary.

Apply a styling cream made especially for curled hair styles such as Luster's S-Curl Comb Thru Texturizer Extra Strength and comb through with a wide-toothed comb.

Determine the size you'd like the curls to be, and separate one lock of hair.

Spray the lock with an extra strength-hold hairspray.

Using a foam curler or hot roller, roll the lock of hair into the curler TIGHTLY from the bottom up. Fasten securely at the scalp, using bobby pins if necessary.

Keep curler/rollers in hair for as long as necessary (until they cool, or the curl is holding).

My hair is supper straight and I had a time trying to get it curled. I even permed it but it just feel out within 3 days. But the best thing I've found is to take a shower, towel dry your hair (not dry just get all the extra water out of it so that's its still damp), put some gel or mouse in it, then put in some curlers to stay in over night and put a night cap on it. Depending on how tight your want your curls you'll have to work with them the next morning and put a little more mouse in not get then a dab of hair spray and your ready to go oh and take out the curlers of course.

your so lucky I have to use all these products and a straightener to get straight hair. I have naturally waive hair.

OK now for your problem I would suggest that you get a perm. they look good on some people so make sure that you really want it before you get it.

not only that but there are mooses and gels that say "curl enhancers" or something like that. they should help and if they don't then they're probably cheep products and aren't worth buying. try some salon formulas and ask the people that work there if you need to, they will know how to help.

hope this helps

there are special shampoos you can buy at stores so when u take a shower just apply it and when u get out blowdry.. and your hair should get wavy a little
ask an assistant at whatever store u go to for these types of shampoos.. they'll recomend what's best for your hair
if you dont want to do that just get a perm or go to the hairstylist and ask if there's anytype of particular hair curler that suites your type best
*Good Luck-

roller set it when damp using a good setting lotion and then either air dry your hair or sit under a hooded dryer, the best way to curl hair without getting a perm as your hair dries onto the shape of the rollers.
you could even set your hair before going to bed remember to tie a scarf or hainet around your rollers to keep them on place while you sleep.

Try volumizing shampoos to get some umff and braid it after showering at night to get waves in the morning. Also try a crimper and then use a curling iron.

i have the same problem. what works for me is after you wash your hair, keep it wet and put it in a little messed up bun (you can do this with a thin scrunchie) then let it air-dry and take it out and voila, it will be curly-ish. you can also try scrunching it with gel or mousse.
