But if I do that I tend to scratch all day. Is it better to skip a washing and scratch it or just wash it daily and not scratch as bad?

shampooing every day takes the natural oils from your hair that it needs to be healthy and dries it out faster. try getting it trimmed regularly...this may help as well. you should most def go get a doc's recommendation.

I was diagnosed with psoriasis at age 14 and now I am 36 years old. You can say that I have tried just about every medicine both approved by FDA and trial without much success. Examples include Enbrel, Humira, oral meds, creams, oils, salts, coal tar, etc and the list is much more extensive that I can't even remember all of the names. But recently after someone shared this video https://tr.im/psoriasisTreatment2McI everything has changed. My psoriasis completely cleared by putting these changes in place. I only wish I'd taken photos of before and after because it truly has been miraculous. I am getting married in Oct, 2015 and I am wearing a strapless gown that also shows my back and I am confident (not like before) that my skin will be soft and pretty vs red and flakey.

I have psoriasis and I have to shampoo every day or the flakiness and itching is out of control. You can use high quality products to help with the condition of your hair. I use a topical solution for the psoriasis but it doesn't do much. I use K-Pak by Joico for shampoo and conditioner and comb my scalp after washing to exfoliate my scalp. There are many products you can use that will be good for your hair and help with the damage and regular trims are necessary too. You can try and only shampoo every other day but I think you'll find the flakiness associated with psoriasis to be an even bigger problem than the discomfort. Good luck.

If you haven't already, you can get special oil based, medicated, shampoo from your doctor, that helps.Keeping your hair clean every day will aid against infection, but don't scrub too hard just very gently massage without touching the scalp with fingers or nails, and rinse really well. And try not to use too many hair products that may irritate you.Choose something without perfumes in,Like the "simple" range.Good luck.

Why don't you see your dermatologist for a recommendation for a more hypo-allergenic shampoo that won't itch? I would only shampoo every other day, but you can use conditioner on the off days.
