I read somewhere that even as a kid he was perfectionist and couldn't accept hitting a bad shot. He would usually take his anger out on the clubs and sometimes didn't shake hands after losing to adults.

Yes his mother got on his rear end about throw his club down, swearing and refuse to shake hands when he lose. She let him know if he does that again that he wouldn't play golf until he learn how to conduct himself better, when you lose you shake hands, if you hit a bad shot on the course you work it out at the driving range. There no need to swear if you're good golfer.

Yes he did throw his clubs and wouln't shake other peoples hands when he was doing bad but his mother kept giving him a talk after he did one of those.

I saw a television interview with Tiger Woods and his mother, and they confirmed that it is true. I seem to recall, however, that it was a one-time incident. Apparently, she was very persuasive!
