The secret is a load of poo. All anyone really needs to know in life is that hard work is rewarded. If you want something, work for it.

Nikon, my dear, of course you can be moral without stating any belief in God. Morality comes from the heart and the mind, a sense of compassion and a sense of fairness. But we didn't need to wait until the 21st Century for Richard Dawkins to tell us how God sounds in the Old Testament. Every person has thought this, that 'Father" whom Jesus describes is far removed from Jehovah of the ancient Hebrews. Every ancient culture fashioned an image of God that was useful to them. The Jews, embattled, kidnapped, put into slavery, subjugated, they needed a powerful warrior god. In that region at that time there were seven different tribal gods to choose from: Ildaboath (or Ialdabaoth), Jehovah, Sabaoth, Adonai, Eloeus. Oreus, and Astanpheus. They were called the Seven Elohim. Remember that when Ramses II ruled Egypt and the Israelites were oppressed, it was 1290 BC, and Rome was not even founded until 753 BC. It was the Bronze Age, the Great Pyramid had just been built in Egypt. It was a thousand years before Archimedes would be born. So, should we sit in judgment of the warrior god that these people chose in times of war? The truth of God is far different, that's why religion has progressed.

I just finished this best selling advise column book named The Secret.
The Secret as far as the Title is suggesting is that we attract things into our lives by the way we think. Worry for example, brings the things similar to what we are worried about alot of the time. Not believing you can accomplish something great is not going to get you there. The book suggests that we are live television sets and we are on channels that we select. We have the power to "Tune in" to whatever kind of program we choose. Focusing on all of the positive things in your life and future goals will be broadcast on your set. And the opposite for the negative thinkers.
You cannot really expect to do this 100% of the time. I feel it is well documented good advise and no secret though.

Umm... I liked this movie cuz i have been studying some books quite similar to this for a while. Its a little complicated if you overwhelm yourself with it. There are some other great writers that you might like if you liked the secret. Check out Sermon on the mount by emmett fox or the game of life by florence scovel shinn. Those are my favorites of these two writers. Emmett was also very influential in starting AA which still defies alot of experts who are really familiar with the hopelessness of alcoholism. Interesting stuff. Of course with the original comment, Its hard to be open minded to anything positive and new with a negative closed minded mentality like the one your comment demonstrates. Hope things get better. People really arent that bad.

con artists con people to make money, I got the video for free from a friend and it only costs about $5 on the official website(which covers web costs and stuff, Very cheap). You could also rent both the book and movie for FREE. Or watch it for FREE on youtube. After that it's all up to you be change your life, you don't need to buy any gizmos or anything. The secret is all about self-empaowerment and reaching for those dreams you once though impossible.
All because you don't want to be happy with yourself, and accept the fact that YOU make your own life, doesn't mean you have the right to spread your bitter hate to others.
NOTE: ( I did all this BEFORE Oprah thank you, I actually first learned this after my friend got the free d.v.d from work, and even if somebody did get this from Oprah...what's the big ******* deal if they did?)

The secret sounds like that latest lie from the father of lies...he will do or say anything to keep people from the truth, which is the Word of God.....sorry if you feel we are void of reality, but there is a reality you should open your eyes to. Jesus loves you, He died in order to make a way for you and I to the Father....and He is patient.....thank Him for being patient.

Just because Oprah says you should read a certain book is no reason to read a certain book.
I like thinking for myself. That's MY secret.

"like a Christian avoids reality?" What exactly does this mean.,maybe that I would rather be a Christian & have my belief in God, than a narrow minded person like you!!??
