Telling you that the important thing is to learn from mistakes so they dont happen again. If you do that the chances of continued success are much greater. Don't just be happy with success right now, strive to learn from the things you do wrong.

I think you can pretty much use any analogy to point it out. Sports, business, school, etc.

Strike a guy out with a high fastball. The next time he comes up he takes that high fastball 400 feet out of the park. Hopfully you have profited from your mistake and wont use that high fastball as the out pitch the third time he comes up.

Well I Don't Agree w/ this Not Capitalizeing on your success

But I Know what its saying

The emphasis is that you Learn From your mistakes

Graham Bell when inventing the Light Bulb Had many failed atempts, But with every attempt he said he just learned one more way that wasn't gonna work
& We Know eventually He Found the way that Did

So he profited from the ways that didn't work saying "Thats a mistake" Here let me try to acheive what I want to By trying a different way" I've got less ways to try now, I'm getting closer

But In This saying I See no reason not to Capitolize on your success (After all you've earned that), but yeah I see the point of how it more comendable to profit from your mistakes

Didn't Graham Bell Capitlize from his successes after Profiting Knowledge from his mistakes
Thus profiting from his mistakes & Capitolizeing on his success
Sorta went Hand & Hand didn't it

This also tends to get you to Not look at yourself as a failure
encourageing you to Learn From your Mistakes

It means that it is easy to bask in the glory of success but the more important thing to do is to learn from the mistakes due to which you have failed.
