I suppose it depends in which country you live. In Norway adopted children are by law allowed access to all information about their biological parents at the age of 18, to make contact if they so choose. But not the other way around.

Good luck in your seach. I met my birth family when I was 35 yrs. old and that was wonderful. Go to the library and look for books on adoption and search info. There are adoption groups to join, look on the internet, those people can help you best.
