After being apart for around 3 months (after almost 3 yrs) my ex calls to tell me she is going to be dating somebody exclusively. After a month of being apart we've been talking once every 1-2 weeks. Why did she make it a point to call me in the middle of the day to tell me this? Is she being vindictive, or is she looking for me to fight for her? Is it a rebound relationship?

I think she still has feelings for you & is trying to make you jelous so you will notice her & want her back. You know the saying "you want what you can't have". She's trying to play a game with you, & she's trying to have the upper hand to try to control you even though you're not together. It's probably a rebound relationship. If you really do want her back, tell her & maybe she'll get back with you. If you don't want her back, just say good for you, I'm happy you're moving on. Just be ready, cuz she may really want you back, but will say no, just she can wrap you around her finger. Girls can be vindictive - I know, I'm a girl, we like to beable to control our man.
