I hate to say it. But either you got it or you don't. If you can take the hit, that is one part of it. What collapses people is raw aggression. Now, I am a spectator as far as boxing goes... I am not made for that. However, I do have a perfect record of 111-0 in wrestling (I wish I stopped at 100-0 to keep it even). Once, when I was 155lbs (175 now), I took on a 2 time Illinois Heavyweight State Champion. He was 235, I gave up SO much weight (80lbs). He beat my azz for about the first 3 minutes. I was hurt, I was afraid. But it comes into mindset at that point. People can laugh if they want to, but I'd kick their butts. I cried before the match... I was SO afraid. And I had a broken hand. What it comes down to is your guts. I was being beaten so bad. But instead of quitting, I kept coming. EVERYONE is afraid. It is not about taking the hit (in my case a belly to belly suplex). It's more about making the dedication. You decide you are going to win? Keep fighting until you can't. No excuses. I know it wasn't a punch, but I was landed on my head and knocked silly. You need to take the shot, but mentally, the best advice I have, is expect to be hurt REAL bad. But that's the price you pay. If you can't pay that price, you can't afford to compete. Fighting is very painful. There has to be "something" inside yourself, that drives you through the pain. I have 1 prized prodege, who I bet will be in the top ten here in a few months. I taught him to let the pain make you concentrate. You go wild, or be passive... you will get hurt. THINK!!! Be strong. That is the key.

It,s all mental some people can take a punch better than others your head was not made to be hit on so if you can take it great if not find something else to do because you can have all the positive attitude in the world about how you are going to react when you get hit but until you do you wont know if you can see the punch coming you can brace your self for it and move with the punch this will help a lot my advice is don,t get hit quick story when I was fighting I had never been hurt while training for my first fight so it,s fight night and I,m ready to go first round the guy catches me with a right hand and the ring tilts side ways now I ,ev never experience this be for so I just start fighting I won but I can,t tell you how because I don,t remember anything after that

Well, you have to keep your fists down and start leading with your face.

Thats the physical part, for the mental try watching a few Rocky movies over and over again.

Have someone hit you in the mug with a frying pan repeatedly for an hour a day for a month, then you will be ready.

yes both because your face has to be like granite to get hit over 400 times in 36 mins of fighting but plus you can't get psyched out and scared mentally from getting hit, so its both.
