Ugh not another one...
Sigh, look sparky, the fact is that there is not god. The burden of proof rests upon YOU to prove his existence, not the other way around. One cannot disprove a negative.
If I were to ask you to disprove that I have a magic milk-jug in my basement that provides whatever drink I ask for, would you believe me? No, of course not, only a moron would.
Same goes for your magic sky-pixie. You have as much proof of your god as I have for my milk jug. But you'd never see me ask you to disprove it's existence. That would be stupid.
It's up to ME to prove that the milk jug exists.
But of course, you and I are in the same boat, neither of our magic friends exist in REAL life.
And we both know it.

Can you prove God exists with empirical evidence to back up that claim? And isn't it a sweeping generalisation to say that as an aethist you hate christians doesn't it merely mean that you disagree over certain points?

I am agnostic not atheist but I know a few and they don't direct hate at anyone which seems to be untrue of the statement made which seems to be directing quite a lot of hatred towards those who disagree with the belief that god exists. You believe in god, good for you but don't hate people because thay have a different opinion over that belief.

Can you prove that Zeus is not real? I claim there is no more evidence that the Bible is true that there is evidence that Greek mythology is true, and I make the stronger claim that there is a great deal of evidence that the Bible is just myth.

I also claim that I am *more* moral than the god of the Bible. The idea that I would kill anyone is repugnant to me, but your god apparently once commanded us to put to death anyone who worked on the sabbath. Your god condoned slavery.

I do not believe in your god. I think your god is a myth, a purely fictional character. I think I live a more just life than many Christians do.

Despite all of this, I don't hate Christians. I just hate what some Christians are trying to do the U.S. in the name of their fictional god.

"fight God , hate christian, despise those that are striving to live in accordance to God laws. you have that right...but i will promise you one thing God will get the last word... "

I am an atheist and I have Christian friends and I do not hate them. I do not despise anyone who strives to live in accordance to "God's Laws". They have their beliefs and I have mine. We respect each other. Can a Christian like yourself respect Atheists? It sounds to me that because we don't have the same view as you, we are immediately wrong about what we believe (or don't believe).

No. An atheist can not prove that God does not exist. But can a Christian prove to me that God does?

ho, humm....

You know what... I find it hard to understand why a god would create me with senses limited to sight, sound, taste, smell and touch... why he would create an entire universe and limit it to the laws of science and physics and grant me the capability to some limited understanding of it... and leave not one shred of evidence that I can detect of his existence.

And on top of that, this god is now going to require that I belive in him based upon nothing other than the fact that I exist... and if I don't, he threatens to punish me with eternal torture. This god sounds like he suffers from narcissistic personality disorder with disassociative personality tendencies... not to mention just being a cruel and sadistic bastard. If this god does exist, he is not worthy of my worship.

Well, given the fact that there is no evidence at all that this god actually exist, I have to rely on the words of those who tell me these stories...

it's "an" not "and". And no, we cannot prove god doesn't exist, just like you can't prove that he does. If you're right, we can go to hell and be warm and toasty the rest of our lives. If we're right, you get nothing. I'd rather live my life peacefully and without fear of some vengeful god.

Free Will

If we knew for sure that He existed, then we would follow Him without a doubt, and never distrust Him. Since we don't know for sure, it is our free will to choose to follow Him.

John 20:29
Jesus said to him, " Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed."

Thanks for the drink *cheers!*

Now please explain to me what is the "atheist life"? We are all vastly different people with the one common thread being that we do not believe in god. I find it interesting that you would use a phrase like "atheist life" as if we all are the same.

I ignored the rest of your drivel.

Most of us you call atheist just are NON Believers in organized religion. Religious folk want us to live by their religious laws.

well, for all the atheists out there, I do hope they do not hold you up as an example of Christian behavior. Your demonstration of hate and not living by the dictates of Christ who tells us to love those that persecute you and to pray for others only tells me that you yourself do not know what it means to be a follower of Christ.

To begin with, it is impossible to prove a universal negative. You cannot ask the atheists to prove the nonexistence of God any more than you can prove His existence to them.

I know many atheists, and the majority do not claim that there is no God. What they claim is that they do not believe that God exists. This is not the same thing.

On the contrary most of the greatest Christian Apologists began with the assertion that God does not exist and set out to prove it by examining the evidence for themselves.

C.S. Lewis, Frances Schaeffer, GK Chesteron, Josh McDowell, Lee Stroubel and many others began with a healthy skepticism over the existence of a god and have since become some of the greatest champions of the faith.

What they did not do however is set out in hatred of christians in order to prove their position, but attempted to logically point out their perceived inconsistencies in the Theistic presuppositions in order to change what they thought was a misguided and uneducated approach to the truth of our existential reality.

I make no claims as a student of Christian apologetics to be smarter than the unbelievers who deride Christians for their beliefs and if you truly think you can prove the validity of the gospel of Christ by your totally unchristian attitude then I assert that you do not know the Christ of the Holy writ.

The cosmologists, astrophysicists, microbiologists, anthropologists, and paleantologists of today have made great strides in discoveries in their respective fields that point to an intelligence in design as the best explanation for the origins of life and the universe, Having accepted this however does not mean that they have chosen to be followers of the precepts laid out by the Hebrew Scriptures.

Science makes claims that the area of theistic presuppositional truth is not their area for investigation but many scientists do not deny that the evidence points in that direction, only that that is not their field of study.

There are those of us who are of a scientific bent who are in the process of seeking a change in the acceptance of scientific investigation by the scientific community at large in areas of the origins of consciousness under the banner of the evidence of intelligent acts as valid empirical data capable of observation and investigation.

Many of us started out as neutral parties in the battle between the theists and nontheists and had a love of the truth as revealed in the physical world and pursued it in our respective fields of study only to find that the evidence for design has become so overwhelming that it is impossible to ignore.

After years of indifference to religion in general and the experiences of the inadequacies of demonstrated hypocrisy in most people who claim an inside scoop to "God's Plan," and the illogic inherent in Eastern mysticism, I have come to the conclusions which have led me not to a belief in a system of religious principles, but an actual relationship with the one who has left His fingerprints on the fabric of the universe, and it is my hope that this love of the truth can help others to find the reality of that great consciousness that transcends our finite reality. The reward of the love I have for life is immeasurable and difficult at times to communicate, but it is because of this love and the One from whom it originated, I do not judge the unbeliever for their unbelief but encourage them to follow every presupposition to its logical conclusion and see if it answers the deepest need within their soul. Please ignore those that claim to represent our creator and display an ignorance devoid of the love that God by neccessity would hold them to.

I am Humbly at the service of our Lord.

God Bless all in whatever your current sojourn.
