I haven't been diagnosed yet with plantar fascia, my dr. did mention it as a possibility. Everything I have read so far is exactly what is going on with me except I also have some lower back stiffness and, that my heel pain is sooooo much better when I have time off from work. I work as a teacher's aid and on my feet all day on concrete floors.
If someone truly had plantar fascia, would that cause continuous pain regardless of whether at home on comfy floors or concrete? I notice a huge difference and am wondering if this would rule out plantar fascia?

Everyone who has feet has plantar fascia. I think you are asking about plantar fasciitis.

The back stiffness could result from how you are standing.

Pain can be variable with plantar fasciitis, but most commonly is worse if you are spending a lot of time in the upright position - long standing, walking, particularly walking on hard floors and if your shoes have no arch support.

Some authors write that inactivity can worsen plantar fasciitis.

So - walk and rest - walk and rest
take pain killers
put your feet up and give them a good massage
wear shoes with good arch support or orthotics to give your feet support

lose weight
cold compress to bottom of the feet

Plantar fascia is caused by your achilles tendon in your leg tightening up so your muscle is shorter than normal so it pulls on the end with the least amount of resistance to it. That area is where it's attached to your heel. Because it's already a tight tendon/muscle situation you don't want to ice it for that could cause more pain. To get rid of the pain you have to free up your achilles tendon and here's how to do that: Achilles tendon: While sitting and your leg on your lap, take both thumbs and place them side by side at about ankle height on the tendon on the back of your leg and apply pressure hard and hold. After 30 seconds slowly raise your toes up as far as you can, release the pressure but hold your foot there for another 30 seconds. For best results relax your body first by taking a deep breath and exhaling then remain this relaxed.

Sherri, I have it also, concrete is a killer. I am hobbling around the house today in pure pain. I feel for you. Try to wear big padded running shoes. My pain flares up when i wear flip flops or cheap shoes.
