I responded to a guys personals ad. I always try to write an email rather than send a automated message as I find that impersonal. The guy responded back by pasting his profile paragraph. No new info about himself and none of my questions answered, just a repeat of what I read. He also gave me his IM adress. I really don't like giving out my email address to someone I haven't even talked to and prefer to email through the personals site at first, then talk on the phone. Should I delete this guy or email him back (through the personals site of course?

Tell him that you are not comfortable giving out your e-mail address and re ask your questions again. If he still doesnt answer your questions, move on.

delete, seems suspicious if he only keeps pasting his profile and asking for your email. dont bother with him. move on to a guy who can put a sentance together.

get back in touch and ask him again more about himself, if you get the same sort of response don,t bother with him again. don,t give out any info, of your own until you are more sure of him.

EVALUATE IF HE IS WORTH KEEPING.
check if he is qualified on your list.
If so... invest time knowing him.
if three replies seemed automated still... ignore then.
