Why does it seem like Christians are insane? Are they?

Yeah,there are people (typically Christians) that are strict about everything,and believe the craziest stuff. God is love you stupid,******* insane religious fanatics. Stop bombing people and going door to door.

2) People that have more loose beliefs that everyone can agree with. God is his creations (people and nature). Be friendly and helpful to your fellow man. Etc.

3)People like me,who are born into a religion and don't actively pursue it.

After reading the other answers,I guess I should direct something at them,and make a point. Some people understand the good in religion,because there is alot of good in the universal beliefs many religions hold. Some people who lean on religion too much do need mental help,and to get off their high horse,and be more loose.

I'm positive that if I knew half of the 10 commandments,I could pick one that religious fanatics blatantly break on a daily basis.

Too much still? Basically.. Religious fanatics are evil. Don't hate religious people for the actions of one sub category.

We are not insane. If your thinking we are insane because we dont want to live in sin, then im sorry. But as christians we shouldnt live in sin, and no one should for that fact. We are insane to the unbelievers because we believe in something you do not, and we live a moral life that you dont.

People fear anyone who is different. And we, Christians, are definitely different. We are set apart for GOD and adopted into the family of GOD by his SON, JESUS blood. But we are not better we are just forgiven and redeemed. I used to be a Correctional Officer and the inmates would ask me how I could treat them like everyone else knowing what they had done. I would tell them GOD did not tell me I was going to put on a brown uniform and be perfect. My sins and yours are just different and someday I will have to answer for mine same as you except JESUS will be my Lawyer and HE will not fail.

I would imagine that, to a degree, it would seem like we are crazy to someone who has not accepted God's gift of salvation. You can't understand why we sing, why we worship, why we gather together on Sundays, or any of the things we do, because you do not share in our joy. I really enjoy my insanity; you should come check us out one Sunday...

Rather depends what you mean by insanity. Four hundred years ago the boot was on the other foot. They are all too human, to be superstitious was evolutionarily advantageous, it just isn't any more.

The so called people in charge, like government.........has referred to all believers in Christ as crazy and drunkards even when Jesus was still walking the earth in the flesh. As a matter of fact, they thought that Jesus was so crazy, that they decided to hang him on a piece of wood and try to kill him.............even though , he had not broken one single law of that time. Jesus said that, "if they hated me, then believe that they will hate you". You could put in different words to that last quote such as "they thought I was crazy, then they will think you are crazy , too".....it all means the same. The world has not changed in thousands of years in how they treat their beliefs in Jesus and your question proves that.
