ASK HIM! Before you're too late. The worst thing that can happen is that he will say no! And so what? It's a dance.. It's not that big! But, if he says yes, you can have a long relationship with him.

see what he says...
if he says that he would like to go....
then you can say..you were thinking of going also....

sure, go for it before its too late, and dnt care about those rule things that only guys ask and stuff. jst do wats on ur mind coz if u dnt then ull start thinkin that maybe he would have said yes but u were to scared/embarrased/nervous, but if u ask then ull knw for sure!!
