Which there probably won't be in the near future. But I was curious on this. To be an officer in the military you have to have a college degree. But with a draft, would that regulation be lifted? Thanks.

If you are in a commissioned program with a ROTC scholarship in college, you will not be drafted.

Good Luck to receive your commission.

nope. I was part of the draft era. did my service. and when there was a draft it generally took a degree to become an officer.

there were some ways to lead to becomming an officer though. for example if you had a certain amount of college credits, there was a program called bootstrap that allowed you to go to college full time to complete your degree. military paid for the college AND paid you E-5 pay while you attended school. after completion they sent you to OTS and when you graduated you owed them 6 years.

i don't think there's been a time since WWII that you didnt need a degree to become an officer except in a war zone during a time of need you could be promoted on the spot by a certain general rank. But that was very very very rare.

No you may just have more acting officers such a 1st sargents and master sargents doing this job. You could not have a draft no more. You cannot just train any dummy to use these new advanced weapons. Unless they start looking for just grunts to clear cities and mountians what else would you use these people for?

Nope, unless you get a battlefield commission, and then as soon as the ffighting stops they ship you off to school.
