We have them in most cities in Australia. Catholic crosses and Wiccan pentagrams in the same store as statues of the Buddha and pictures of Qan Yin the Merciful.
What's so strange about that?
I often give the local nun a lift into the regional centre, and she knows I'm a witch. Why can't people just let people be? Give them the right to their beliefs, and hold your own, without judgement or personal criticism?

There would be a lot of controversy no matter how many people like the idea, there are some who would just be ignorant and blind to think something like that is acceptible and discriminate all they can. I would think it is even safe to say a store such as the one you are talking about would be the focus of a few bomb attacks at the least.
The store would also have to be somewhat large, like the first poster said, but not the size of Australia, to cater for all the different religions in the world. Even if someone were planning to open one like that today, there would have to be at least 5 years of gathering up all the things that will be sold there and learning a few things for customers with questions - and that is just the start for a business like that

I can only imagine my Catholic family walking into the stores that supply my Buddha and Ganesh altars. It would be a nightmare. I love them but that just wouldn't work. I'd be called a Satanist and reminded I was going to hell for the rest of my life (not like I'm not already). I can go with them to a Catholic/Christian supply store and feel just fine. They don't like coming to visit my town because we're very 'New Age' here. My yoga practice is even looked at as something 'New Age'.

I wouldn't worry about the controversy, I'd worry about the STOCK.
I can't imagine there's a building big enough for even part of the stuff that ALL of the religions use.

Location, location, location!! big city with diverse cultures, any area with diverse cultures should be a big success. but question, What about the people who get led astray from shopping in your store, consider if your willing to be held accountable for leading others astray.

Only the Buddhists would come. All the rest see them selves as superior and seem to hate any other form of religious expression.

In the deep South of the USA it would be firebombed in ten minutes, in London or Amsterdam it would be shrugged off.
