Everyone is suggesting I use coconut milk or oil for my chemically damaged hair. Where do I get coconut oil? I can't find it in the grocery stores here. And, for coconut milk, do I just purchase coconuts in produce and cut them? I've never done anything with a coconut, so I'm a little dumb in that department. THanks.

coconut oil makes the hair feel soft and looks shinier its better to apply it while in the shower after shampooing. fresh coconut meat is better. if thats the only place where u could find coconut (produce then go for it). cut it in half with big knife and scrape or grate the meat out itll be a bit hard . but u could use spoon then squeeze the meat till u have enough coconut oil depending on how long ur hair is.

And some would say mayo, a raw egg, olive oil or just a good plain old conditioner left on for a good 15 minutes would do the trick just as nicely.

You can get it at your local health food store, by the oils. It can come in a jar too. Good stuff! It works great on your skin too.
