Any thoughts on this? British Marines and Sailors have been captured for "apparently" going into Iranian waters, do you believe that it was intentional or is this another add on to the already tempestuous situation in the Middle East. Do you think they will be harmed? Let's hope they are treated well and nothing happens to them, I believe they should be let go.

The M.O.D. is saying they were in Iraqi water but the Iranians were saying they were in Iranian waters and they have proof
At this stage we don't know the truth but i think it will be like the situation a few years back and they will be released unharmed

Well kinda the same thing happened back in 2004, And even though the Iranians threatened the British Marines, they were released unharmed in three days. So by saying that the Marines are going to be put on trial, I think that the Iranians are testing us.

It's like I've said before, The President of Iran wants to draw the West into a war. It will make him look like a big man...when in reality he's small potatoes. I don't think they will harm the Marines. Last I heard, they were being used as a bargaining tool, for the release of some Iranians that were captured in Iraq.

Who knows if they really did or did not enter there waters, the point is they were captured while trying to stop smugglers who are bringing in weapons and supplies to the crazy factions who are still fighting in Iraq to prevent a stable government from being formed. I guarantee it will not happen again, Im confused as to why there were no gun ships hovering around the ships being inspected, when I was in the US Navy doing the same sort of thing there were always several gunships and fighters all around. Iran has like no Navy, The US coast guard could wipe them out on there own..

A good question for all the armchair pundits. Since our guys have been moved to Tehran and it is suggested will be tried for espionage, it seems the mad president had a take on this. Since he is completely off his rocker, who knows what may happen? I'd guess that there could be a show trial just to humiliate us (and the sailors) and then they'd be handed back, maybe for some concession somewhere along the line. I seem to remember this happening in the cold war when Russia did this sort of thing. Nothing much changes.

There is always argueing over whos waters are whos. This is another political tactic. They will not be treated great but they will not be taken care of well. The governments will bargin and get them released. Niether side wants a war now.

Apart from my 'no coincidence' comments on this subject earlier, it is now nice to see that the UK and US Governments are of the 'latter day' opinion that confessions under duress are not safe.

Hmmm, interesting, as Blair and Bush were practically dancing for joy recently at the admissions to most everything in recent years by 'would be' Arab terrorists, calling it proof positive of all they had claimed.

When the fu ck will the West awaken to the fact that Arab lives are as important as Western lives, and while not all that they say is true, nor is everything Blair or Bush says true.

Whether you like it or not, this is an act of institutionalised racism, fostered by 'white skinned' Government officials, and that, you racist bastards, is an act that breaks UK law.

Guilty of much, as he is, Blair has ot shown himself not only to be a racist at heart, but also someone, now and in the past, who has actively incited race hatred for his won political ends.

Where you agree with their comments, and don't give me this 'I am not racist, but' crap, agree with them and you are a racist, it's that black and white.

Don't worry about them, Iranians have no Guantanamo and Abughorib!
21 June 2004: we had 8 Royal Navy marines arrested in Iranian waters by IRGC and they were released 3 days later.
Worry about war lovers!:
In 1939 Hitler commandos attacked a German radio station near Polish border and that was his EVASION to attack Poland and begin the WWII.
WAR is the solution or problem???

Happen before. They came home fine. Hope for the same result. But I hope they come home safe with all the tension, and focus on Iran.
