It is the nonsense that religion tells us about God that is beyond understanding.

Who? : is The human being. Why? : so to have peace and harmony while we live in the same place. My friend, understanding God is like drinking all the waters in the ocean we can take some but not all for we are limited. Know this that the more you know the more questions you will ask. Our brain is like a hard disk we have limited capacity choose wisely what to store and delete what you think is useless and harmfull. In real life, Good choices produce good things. Be happy and be contended for what you have, not look at what others have gained.
If you ask me if that makes sense then my answer to you is that, please learn to know more about what you asked. Learning makes you knowledgable and leads you to understanding to more of the things you chose to know, Start to kneel and pray then in time Im sure this question you asked will be a question no more.Peace be to you all!

God is not beyond all understanding. It's just that we can't understand everything about Him because we are finite.
He has revealed everything we need to know Him, love and Him and serve Him so that one day we will be happy in Heaven.
For those things which we still do not understand, we can pray for wisdom or just offer them up in humility.

Nothing is beyond comprension unless we quit trying...to say something is beyond all understanding is a cop out. Like not trying to work a math problem because, "Its too hard! This is impossible!"
My opinion about God being beyond comprehension is that all religious books have a great typo...the word isn't supposed to be "HE", it is supposed to be "ME"...truth is within each and every one of us.
The answer to who and why...the who is ME (myself/yourself) and the reason is for the peace that only self confidence and inner awareness can bring.
Know thyself!

What the heck are you talking about? Where does it say that God is beyond all understanding? Its not in the bible. I know a verse that is similar to that but as usual another nontheist wants to make claims of superior intelligence by mis wording scripture.
But since you haven't actually quoted scripture but demonstrated your own bias towards spiritual matters, and you are not alone in this, I just have one question for you. Why does it matter to you?
I have some scriptures for you: James 1:5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.
Psalm 14:1 The FOOL hath said in his heart,"there is no God."
1 Corinthians 2:14 But the natural man does not recieve the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; neither CAN he know them for they are spiritually discerned.
1 Corinthians 1:18 For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
So regardless of how many kudos you get from other answers, which is really what your looking for, in your heart you convince yourself that there is no God. This identifies you as a fool to begin with. The bible warns us not to answer a fool according to his folly. So you are not really deserving an answer.
You must know that you are precariously perched in this life for perishing and until this changes you are not capable of receiving an intelligent answer to your unintelligent question.
Sort of reminds me of the stupid redneck and his last words before dying, "Hey ya'll, watch this!"

It does indeed. I think "god" is an attempt on the part of people to confine in the incomprehensible, infinite, unknowable spiritual component of human life in a nice, tidy, approachable, controllable package, which is why we get such ideas as "If I do thus and such, God will reward me with eternal life."

The concept of an all powerful all knowing all good god makes no sense, the definition forces you that way. Once you add in the nonsense that is the bible you can only throw up your hands in defeat which is what all Christians do in rational debate.

The human form of life is specially to understand God, dogs and hogs and lower animals, for them is not possible. Our brain is limited and God is unlimited, but according to our surrender unto Him, He reciprocate and He give us intelligence how to understand Him. God can be understand when He will reveal Himself to us. Then we can understand Him to some extent.

You don't need to understand God to know that He gave us life, gave us all of creation to enjoy, and gave us rules to live by.
When you were an infant or a little kid, did you totally understand your parents? Of course not. But I'll bet you loved them and I'll bet you knew what the rules were. Whether or not you chose to obey them is another story, just like the story of mankind.

Sometimes in our lives, there are questions that we just can not find the answer to. The bible teaches us to rely on faith. Faith is most important. We all have questions that we want to ask when we get to Heaven. Even in the Book of Revelations, it speaks of a "mystery" that will not be revealed until the time of the end.
