I will run for sure. There are too many people out there claiming to a prophet. I am certain I would know if I was face to face to one. Anything else makes my skin crawl and the thought of a false prophet, not a schizophrenic or somebody with another mental illness trying to twist scripture, is sure to be doomed. Anyone who is trying to gain fame or trying to get a popular vote will be stopped in their tracks eventually when they wake up. God is in control at all times. Seek Him first ALWAYS!

When the time of 'prophets' that we know historically/religiously occurred, they weren't accepted then either. Now after hundreds/thousands of years we look back & say 'oh these people were prophets', when really they could have been lunatics but now elaborate stories are built around them. Here' s an idea. Be your own prophet. What do you want? really. How can you get there? How can you do that? Love your family, love your friends, be good to people, fight for people can can't fight for themselves and be true to yourself. Lead yourself. We all have it within ourselves.

Not only in "these days" are people making such claims, that sort of nonsense has been going on since someone discovered that other people's gullibility meant profit for the prophet.

I really doubt that would happen to me since I pretty much know that someone with the true gift of prophecy isn't likely to go around claiming the title of "prophet" since God is gracious to the humble not the proud. Secondly, anyone who is a true servant of God doesn't go around selling their services like the person you describe. The best way not to get taken advantage of by wolves in sheeps clothing is to read the Bible and get hooked up with a solid church like the one I attend http://www.alcf.net with a great teaching Pastor http://www.oneplace.com/ministries/enduring_truth

We are commanded to test the spirits. A false prophet will never stand up under the examination of the spirit.... Jim

Trust in God not in a person on this earth. Scripture says to "test the prophets"

Read your bible and put your trust in God. It tells us that many
false prophets shall come.

Just make sure they do what they claim they can do before paying them anything, especially attention.
