I got a tattoo on my hip 3 days ago. I've been trying to avoid working out but I'm seriously missing it. Is it okay to workout now without rubbing it?

How about wearing some loose fitting light material cotton yoga pants? I still worked out when I got my girl bit inked and the color still looks amazing. You just have to be sure to take a thorough shower to wash off the sweat. If you are able to, let the tattoo air dry and then apply a thin layer of unscented lotion to it.
You really should be okay. When in doubt, call your artist, tho.
Congrats on the new ink.

I had to come back and see the new response. TOTALLY forgot about that. The ceran wrap tricks your body into thinking it is already scabbed, and the A&D protects the ink from infection. The healing process is a whole lot faster if you do the ceran wrap thing during your workout. But still, you'd shower afterwards anyway. ;)

Use the Saran Wrap and use either Blue Ocean (I think is the name - it's for bad sunburns) or A&D ... The vitamins in the A7D may actually help you heal 1 to 2 days faster but there is normally a noticable differance with the BO stuff!

Yep ,I worked out the day after, I just tried not to have fabric rubbing against it. This is probably the time when its starting to scab or flake. So moisturise well before. Don't go too crazy, I just did the tread mill, and free weight lifting without touching anything with my tatoo. Good luck

Coat it with vitamin A & D ointment (diaper rash stuff) and then cover it with saran wrap, secured with bandage tape. Don't use gauze. Gauze can stick to the open wound and pull out the color. If you need to pad it to avoid discomfort, put the gauze on top of the saran wrap and tape it down too.
