My wife and heard some dude preaching on his soap box about the evil of barcodes, calling them "the mark of the beast".
We asked him why and he said because they had 18 bars in them (6+6+6).
We went home and checked a few barcodes and found he was way out.
Now in Russia people are freaking out about barcodes going on their passports because they are "the mark of the beast"
Any one know why they hate barcodes so much?

the mark of the beast has absolutley NOTHING to do with barcodes. And all of a sudden soap is evil too, because it has EIGHTEEN bars? Wow! Lol, this guy needs a hobby.

People are always looking for signs that the end times are coming even though Jesus told us the end of the world would come at an hour of His choosing.
The book of Revelations has a lot of numbers in it so many Christians are always looking for meanings in the numbers around them.
I guess people want to feel like they know something others don't know and they want to feel they'll be "ready" when Jesus comes.
It doesn't matter. You should be ready for the coming of Christ (or for death) whether that is tomorrow or two millieniums from now.

Nothing wrong with barcodes at all. Some religious nut jobs will look for anything to get on their soap boxes about.

As protestants they believed that it is a demonic sign where numbers are involved and they even said that windows of Bill Gates are its accomplice. Watta hell! those people are just telling lies so that they can increase their donations in their church. In my opinion it all about business. They cheat those ignorant people who seeks salvation for their souls. Trust me it's only a hoax.

It's just another step towards a cashless society, just another step toward big brother-type government, just another step towards losing our freedom of movement.
Would you accept a barcode under the skin, knowing that you can be tracked, knowing that you can't use cash ever again and all your purchases can be tracked?
