When I came to know that families can be together forever - i.e. even after death. That's when I understood a bit of how vast God's love is. He wants us to be happy forever and ever. Fairy tales do have a true ending.

People seem to have got the problem of the existence of evil mixed up with the extent of God's love. The presence of evil in the world simply makes God's point that sin exists. We are constantly shielded from the full consequences of or sin by his patience, as He longs for us to come to Him through Jesus.
My problem has been getting beyond theoretical statements such as the above to letting His love impact me deep inside. His love as a reality and an experience has come as He has broken me down and softened my emotions. This has been a process. I remember the rush of joy when a trivial incident told me in a way that maybe ony I could undertsand that He loved me, but that was near the beginning of a journey and I'm still on it

I don't know if I'll ever know the true extent of God's love. I've been a Christian for over 20 years now, and I'm still discovering more.

I was 18 y/o, a senior in high school. It was night; I was alone in my bedroom. I pulled out a little booklet that a friend at schookl had given me. On the front it said, "How much are you worth?" On the inside there was hand drawn, a nail in the center of the hand, blood dripping from the hand. Written around the hand were the words, "God says you're worth the death of His Son." On the back was a simple message, something like: "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life" (John 3:16). The followed a simple prayer of salvation. I got on my knees and trusted the Lord Jesus Christ as my personal Savior. My life has never been the same since.
Has this happened to you? It can as you open your heart to Christ today.

When the "mask of God" fell away and I became aware of being joined with the infinite. I came to know that the narrow, restrictive concepts of "religion" could not hold the incomprehensible spirit, the Unknowable.

About 10 or 11 years ago, my life just literally fell apart. The only thing that I knew to do was turn to studying the bible and prayer. I started to do this for hours and hours, each day. AND before long, it was just as God had said.......I will draw near to you , if you draw near to me(not quote/unquote).. I started to experience miracles that were for me ONLY to see. From then on, I have been hooked.

When I started actually reading the bible rather than just taking someone Else's word about what it said and meant.

If you actuall read parables like the prodigal son. or the verse in Mathew where Jesus tells us about the man who paid all of the workers the same no matter how long they worked you start to realize that Jesus was telling us that God is unconditionally loving, Rather that the judgmental jerk that organized religion makes Him/Her out to be.

This made me start thinking.

Love and blessings Don
