Indeed you are right when you wrote Ricky will meet his toughest test in Castillo, but you were aslo indeed wrong when you wrote cement his name in the pound for pound list. Before you and your mates get ready to give me the thumbs down I'm writing you to look at things realistically as a true fan of the sport instead of a fan of Ricky's, probably from England. The English have been given there share of rubbish that Frank Warren and his promtional group have dubbed "Great" Hamed, Lewis, Clazaghe, Khan and at one time Hatton.
I like Ricky Hatton. I think he has a lot of heart and heart goes a long way in this business. He has an agressive style and a decent punch. But just because I like Ricky does not mean I'm blinded by my adoration of his boxing ability. He's shown that he has the right mindset in getting away from Frank Warren and coming to America so he can become a better fighter, but has he?
In Ricky's last two fights he looked awful. Sure he was aggressive but he looked like a human punching bag in the process. His straight ahead style isn't faring him so well in the States. Collazo made Hatton look amateurish at best and Urango as limited as his skills are still managed to give Ricky all he can handle. Rickys learning and learning well that it isn't easy when Frankies not hand picking opponents and referee Micky Vans isn't here to let him get away with using his head and elbows to beat the bajeebies out of his opponent.
Ricky's facing a completely different fighter in Castillo that he has ever faced before. Ricky's fighting a fighter that loves a toe to toe exchange. Ricky's fighting a fighter with power in both hands who he won't be able to bull rush. Ricky's fighting a fighter that will go downstairs on him each and every time he throws a combination. Ricky's in trouble and Ricky is in over his head.
This fight won't go the distance, it can't. Ricky will be hurt badly and often and wont make it past the 9th round. This fight will forever change Ricky and maybe the mindset of the British fans of what "Great" really is.
Thanks for the question Comsopaul.

Hatton is in for a hard night in this fight but he will eventually win by late stoppage. Who ever said that Castillo hits harder than Hatton is totally wrong. Hatton has got a very hard punch and as Castillo is from a weight below then the power will be with Hatton. I also agree that Hatton is one of the finest fighters to come out of England.

Give Hatton credit ever since he left Frankie Warren back in England, he's been fighting in the U.S. against better competition and making more money. He wants to achieve greatness. There is difference between wanting and accomplishing. I don't think the Hitman can beat Castillo. I'm going to steal an answer from Brad Morris in reference to a question of mine he answered on the same subject. "Hatton is an exciting one dimensional fighter. Castillo is a brawler with excellent boxing skills that gave Mayweather his toughest test to date. Could you see Hatton doing the same?" NOPE.

Without doubt this will be a great fight. Has Hatton got the heart to win ...yes definately. Has he got the skills...not so sure. He has looked at stretching point in his last two matches and this is another step up for him. On the other hand can Castillo handle rickys body shots which I feel are among the best in the business. Cant wait for this one!!

It's a great match-up, to say the least. I feel that Castillo will have the advantage in power. They are both sluggers, which makes me doubt even more that this fight will result in a knockout. I think Castillo will take this one in a hard-fought shootout.
As this one starts off, I think both men will start strong. I see both men going toe-to-toe, which won't be good for Hatton. Hatton almost got knocked out by a so-so puncher. I expect Hatton to be knocked down in this fight. Castillo is capable of giving Hatton a very bad night. Hatton may fare very well against Castillo if he fights a smart fight. I think Castillo will shock Hatton with a late-round stoppage.

hatton will win this guy is coming from a weight below and hatton has just dropped down again to light welter, i dont know what all the hype is about. hatton has beat better fighters than castillo he was nearly unheard of before the coralles fights. if hatton can get back the stamina for this type of fight at light welter he will win

this one's gona be a tough one to call, both fighters will be going into the ring ready for war, and that's exactly what i think we'll get, i think Castillo will bring the best out of the Hitman, and Castillo is always up for a war, i predict both fighters to be blooded after this battle on Sunday June 24th, i think Hatton will defeat Castillo with passion pressure and power more than his ring smarts, the Hitman is certainly going about his buinness the right way fighting in the U.S.A and he has already cemented his name in history in the U.K,

Castillo all the Way,after his last fight I'm not sure if hatton can keep up with those body shots..and he doesn't have the power to K.O Castillo..no offense to European fighters but way to slow compare fighters in north America...

i think hatton may meet his match when he come face to face with castrillo, ricky looked well of the pace in his last fight but then again so did castillo, it will no doubt go to points, itll be down to who is the better technical boxer coz i dont see either of these guys getting knocked out
