Just brought a slow cooker and would love to know how to cook corned beef in it. Any tips would be great.

I put the corned beef (already seasoned or w/season pkg) in the slow cooker with quartered cabbage and a can of ginger ale. You could use beer (any kind) or 7-up. Put on low setting for about 3-4 hrs. Drain off all of the liquid and add another can of whatever you used first and keep on low for another 1-2 hours. Draining off the original liquid takes all of the heavy salted taste away. I have never tried potatoes or carrots in it, but I would think you could. Enjoy.

Oooh, this is one of our favorites! Just put the brisket in fat side UP, along with the contents of the seasoning packet. Quarter up a couple potatoes and red onions, add those. Add a couple big spoonfuls of minced garlic. Add one beer and 4 cups of water. And a few bay leaves. Slap the lid on and cook on high for 6-7 hours.

It comes out so tender and good.

Follow the recipe for cooking on the stovetop and add a tablespoon of pickeling spice. Cook it until it is fork-tender, usually all day.

It's the only way I cook it now.
